Selling at Bird in the Nest

We buy gently used children's and maternity clothing, toys and select gear by appointment only. We give you store credit for the items we can take; we also offer a consignment option for larger-ticket items (strollers, high-end gear, etc.)

Recycling your gently loved items is great for the environment, your family and other families.

How it works

Step 1: Schedule an appointment to drop off your items

Click here or give us a call at 650-592-1983 to schedule an appointment. All appointments will be drop-offs.

Step 2: Prepare your items

  • Clothes and toys must be limited to 3 grocery bags or 1 box/bin per appointment. If you have larger items, let us know in advance and we can advise you on what we can take.

  • Inspect your items carefully before bringing them in. All items should be clean, laundered, and free of stains, tears, or excessive wear. Infant items should be in especially great condition (we see so much come through that we need to be especially selective in these sizes.)

  • Battery-powered items must have working batteries.

Step 3: Bring your items to the store

Be sure to put your items in a box, bin, or 3 grocery sized bags.

We will choose the items that we think we can sell and give you store credit. We offer 50% store credit on the resale value of your items. For higher-ticket-price items, we may offer the option of consignment; with a payment of 50% in cash or 60% in store credit when your item sells.

Remaining items must be picked up within 3 days after notification when the buy is complete or we can donate them for you.
